Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions I’m asked most often
What is counselling?
Counselling provides a supportive, safe space in which you can talk in confidence to an experienced, professional counsellor.
How do I get started?
Give me a call, text or email with your phone number. I will advise you on my availability, we will find a time that fits and i will book you in for your first session.
How long does counselling take?
This depends on your personal needs, and is something we’ll agree together as we go.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes — sessions by video or phone for clients who can’t attend in person, or prefer to work from home.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, in line with the BACP’s ethical framework, with the usual legal safeguarding exceptions explained at the start of our work together.
Do you work with couples as well as individuals?
Yes — alongside one-to-one counselling I run a specialist couples counselling practice.
What can I expect from a session?
Professionalism, understanding and compassion.
What are your fees?
At the prctice individual counselling (50 minutes): £60. Couples counselling (60 minutes): £85. Payment is taken at the end of each session, by cash or card, and secures your next appointment. Online counselling payment is made before the session. A limited number of concessionary appointments are available before 5pm for those on a low or no income.
